Listening is most important. If you can not have a simple conversation without talking over each other or screaming things will never get better. Walking off from a conversation doesn't make things better either. Take it slow, submission is sometimes the key. For example: Depending on how extreme the argument or discussion is sit your partner down, get some some warm oil and massage their feet..rub their shoulders..then BAM! Speak with a soft concerning tone and express your views of the topics at hand. Let me know how it works out for you.

Being a adult is stressful! lol Nothing feels better than going out with your friends and "cuttin a rug" or acting just out right goofy..but responsible. An alternative would be double dates but sometimes this could back fire because some people are more reserved than others. Going out "every weekend" will not necessarily be apart of your plans.

6. He plays golf, play station or pool too much!

I myself wish the play station was never created. It is worst than a bunch of guys watching Sunday Football. Nothing is worse than hosting or just knowing that a house full of grown men wasting hours on in playing a video game. Same goes for bowling or any other sport. My father is a pro-bowler. Coming up I basically lived in the bowling alley and I swore never to step foot in another bowling alley for the rest of my life. My advice to you is to find a sport or hobby that interest you that replaces that time.

7. Am I his maid or his woman?

In the "honeymoon" stage everything from his morning breath, the way he snores or his favorite t-shirt thrown on the couch seems cute..{to some women}. This has to be nipped in the bud [from the beginning]. He/She only do what you allow them to do. If you start out cleaning up after them, cooking at the drop of a dime "knowing" your anal about these sort of things..who's fault is it? YOURS! Make a commitment of what duties belong to who that way there is no misunderstanding.

8. How come I have to be the one to initiate sex? All he wants to do is have sex?

As the older you get your sex drive tends ride this mental roller coaster because that is what it is. Bringing your problems home from work, balling things up inside and lack of rest all play apart. There has to be a time to "make time" for the both of you before this once "romantic affair" becomes a chore.lol Those of you that have done it just to get something you wanted know what I'm saying. [All he wants to do is have sex] Well you sexy little thang! More than likely the both of you were inseparable and started this trend long ago and technically is hard to break. My advice would be to interact in other activities and make it a weekly thing. For example: Game night or your favorite show. My favorite is "Deal or No Deal"

9. We don't go out anymore

Again, making time for the things you make a necessity in the relationship to "get" him or her is what you have to KEEP doing. If you started the fine dining on a McDonald's salary you must make a shift quickly to something just as romantic. Use your imagination, search for idea's and other romantic locations such as walks on the beach every Thursday's, french toast Friday's, Want you Wednesday's. Play dates are the key.

10. Do I look as good as I did when we first got together?

This depends on you. Mentally and physically. If someone told us when we were fifteen that our cute little assets will drop to our knees as early as thirty if we continued to eat candy bars we still probably wouldn't have listened anyway. So here you are in your mid thirty's. That lovely gray string just keeps coming back!!! My assets aren't as perky as they use to be! Well get over it and continue to were those "vogue bra's" and those extra tight undies that take your breath away when you bend over to hold everything in place. That's the life as a woman. On another note I can't stand to hear men feelings as though these rules don't apply to them. I'm sure that round playground you have mista man wouldn't have been as becoming ten years ago...

Violence is actually the by-product of domestic abuse and it can be a by-product of alcohol and/or drug abuse. As a by-product of substance abuse, it may present as: a) reckless conduct and loss of inhibitions or b) drug-seeking behavior.

With respect to violence that is a manifestation/by-product of control: the alcoholic and the drug addict may use violence to control his/her access to their substance. Whereas, the partner or spousal abuser uses violence to control his/her victim.

It is common knowledge that substance abuse is an addiction to one's substance of choice; however domestic abuse is more of a psychosocial addiction to control. Knowing this distinction makes it possible to select the appropriate intervention for one's condition/situation. You wouldn't want treatment for one condition if you indeed suffered from another condition, would you?

Yet more often then not, couples in abusive relationships quickly cling to one type of intervention without recognizing the importance of this differential diagnosis. Even if the couple is experiencing both domestic violence and substance abuse, each of these conditions must be treated for what it is, not for what it may look like at first glance.

I have seen numerous cases in which a substance abuse treatment protocol has been used for couples suffering from partner or spousal abuse solely, or in combination with substance abuse. Unfortunately, the net result can increase the risk factors for the battered partner.
If you are in an abusive relationship, seek to clarify for yourself if what you're dealing with is intimate partner violence and/or substance abuse before you begin a regimen of intervention.

I have been trying very hard these last two weeks to accept what you have done to my head. But I can’t. I just can’t! Every morning, I find it hard not to cry while attempting to style the so-called haircut you gave me. It is better to end a relationship in this stage than to be trapped in an abusive and unhappy marriage.As a counselor, I have worked with female victims of domestic violence. It was very difficult for these women to come to terms with the fact that the man they loved was causing them such physical harm, and that to remain in the marriage could possibly cost them their lives. Many of these women came to realize through counseling that there were some red flags prior to marriage that they either rationalized or ignored.

We should wisely and prayerfully consider the important decision of choosing a mate. Therefore, I am offering the following as indicators of a potentially abusive mate:

-What to eat
Whether your family chooses a catering service or services provided by your special location, you must make sure the menu is suitable for everyone. For example: fish

-What to wear
Where ever you plan to spend your reunion it is more than important for children as well as elderly and pregnant women to bring appropriate attire. Keep The Guest in Mind When Planning Your Wedding

Now, back to the actual wedding service itself. First, if you are having all of your friends in the wedding party in full gown and tux regalia, then the ushers should also wear tuxes and actually haul people to their seats. I witnessed a lot of milling about in the church lobby, and ushers in street clothes standing around. No one was asking if you wanted to sit on the bride side or the groom side. It was chaos. If you are having a traditional wedding, then stick with the traditions that people expect. Once people are seated and the service begins, try to avoid too many readings from your bridal party.

Having someone clomp in heels from one end of the church to the other, to come up and stumble over some scripture is excruciatingly boring for your audience. You quickly lose your guests interest. We want to hear the "I do, I do" and "You may kiss the bride". If you have come this far in the wedding plan, then stick with tradition. You are now a Mr. And Mrs., and you and your family and bridal party should be in line to greet your wedding guests. I was amazed that this did not occur at this last wedding I attended. Grandparents were not introduced. Our family (this was a nephew getting married) did not meet the bride's parents. It was very odd.

The bride and groom went back into the church for pictures and the guests were left to stand around. There was no rice or birdseed thrown as the couple leaped into a limousine. There was no limousine. Again, if you are planning a formal wedding and blowing plenty of dollars, then rent a limousine, for goodness sakes. Once again, it is time to discuss the reception. Hopefully, you have settled on a proper time and your guests are not fainting from hunger. If you have planned this much, then go ahead and make the effort to create a seating plan. You should have the bridal party at the head of the room at one table.

Again, I witnessed no organization at this last wedding. If there is a buffet line, the wedding party should be first to go through it. Again, I was amazed to see the maid of honor at the back of the line.I have no food ideas for you. Food is very subjective and can be very expensive. Use your own judgment based on the amount of people you are feeding. You cannot please everyone, so be sure to choose food you and your new spouse like to eat. In regards to beverages, have water glasses and pitchers on the table. Otherwise, having sodas, beer, and wine available is a nice touch, along with a cash bar option. The alcohol factor is expensive and again subject to one's family situation and other social issues. That is your call entirely.

5 Wedding Tips You Might Not Hear

1. Carry a Lightweight Bouquet.

In order to keep the flowers fresh at my wedding, the florist included a special grip around the base of the bouquet that was filled with water. Not only did it end up dripping ice-cold water on my dress during the ceremony, but it made the bouquet weigh what felt like 10lbs. My elbow was literally shaking during the ceremony, and not from the jitters! The day after the wedding, I could barely move my arm. See to it that your bouquet is lightweight and easy to hold, so that you don’t have any distractions from the important vows you’re about to make.

2. Make Photos Priority Number One.

Don’t ever skimp when it comes to your photographer at the wedding. This should be your highest priority because your wedding day is about the memories; long after the cake has been eaten, the flowers have died, and the bridesmaid gowns have faded, you’ll still have the photographs. If you’re disappointed with how the photos come out, it will color your memories of your special day. And every bride deserves to be beautiful, and have pictures she’s proud to show her family and friends. If you have to cut back on your wedding budget—do it elsewhere. Your photographs are the touchstone you’ll have to remember these moments in time; make them count.

3. Don’t Try A New Cosmetics Regime.

You may be tempted, days before the wedding, to try an entirely new cosmetics regime, or to use tanning lotion, or to use Nair, or to get yourself waxed. Word to the wise: Don’t. In the two weeks before your wedding, you’re likely to be more stressed out than ever before. Your skin is likely to be more sensitive too. While trying a new foundation might not normally make you break out into hives, these are not normal times. If you’re going to wear new make-up or tanning lotion for the big day, start making the transition a month in advance. Consider plucking instead of waxing. (Sometimes, a sensitive layer of skin might come up with the wax strip, leaving you a slightly red seeping wound—no reason to chance that on your big day.)

4. Keep a Control Journal.

I thought it was a joke, really, when I heard my DJ playing Cool and the Gang, since Cool and the Gang topped our Do Not Play List, just above the Chicken Dance. The DJ would later claim (under much pressure from my bridesmaids - hell hath no fury like bridesmaids trussed up in wine-colored lace) that he did not receive the Do Not Play List. I knew I’d written one, but I was kind of busy being the bride—too busy to go argue with the DJ about music. If I’d kept a control journal of everything I wanted and didn’t want, I could have whipped out an extra copy and handed it to him. If you have instructions as to how you want your day to go, from the flowers to the cake, to everything else, write them out in a Journal and have one of the bridesmaids bring it to the wedding. This way, if the waitresses are giving your vegetarian Uncle Henry chicken when he was supposed to get the egg souffle, you can have someone whip out an extra copy of the menu sheet and order will be restored.

5. Take your Time on the Aisle.

Hopefully, you’ll get to be a bride exactly once in your life. That walk down the aisle, when all eyes are on you and your escort, is one that you want to remember and savor. Walk much slower than you think you should walk. Stagger your steps even, if you like. What most people don’t tell you is that it’s the reverse trip that’s the most fun. Everyone gets nervous on their wedding day. It is only natural to go through this experience and to feel a nauseating knot build up in the pit of your stomach as you contemplate the walk down the aisle or the wait at the aisle as your bride arrives. Unfortunately, the happiest days of your life are often fraught with such anxiety. But rather than give in, there are a few things you can do to keep your nerves under control and carry on with your wedding ceremony without giving in to your nerves.

Get a good night's rest
The night before the wedding can be the most unbearable time of all as you anticiapte the next day and how it will turn out. Even well matched couples who are deeply in love may start to have doubts and wonder, "Am I doing the right thing? What if I let him/her down?" Do not take this to mean that you should call off the wedding altogether. It is a natural part of the wedding process. The feelings will usually subside. If they don't, then you will have to make an honest self-examination. The best thing you can do is to get a good night's rest the day before the wedding, rather than allow yourself extra time to brood and think up even more reasons not to get married.

Practice run
If at all possible, arrange to have a practice run of the wedding ceremony a few days prior to the wedding. This will allow you the opportunity to practice walking down the aisle, you will have an idea of where everyone will be sitting and you will know how far to walk to. Nerves are often a symptom of a fear of the unknown. But if you have a clear idea of how the ceremony will be conducted, then you are less likely to be plagued with such feelings on the day of your wedding.

The moment you’ve waited for has finally arrived! It’s your wedding day and it’s the day that you’ve planned for since you were a little girl (or, even a little boy). You’re finally marrying the man (or woman) of your dreams and nothing will mar the beauty and exhilaration of this event.
Well, that’s what you think. Brides and grooms always seem to be fighting nerves on their wedding day. What with all the details that need to be checked, double-checked, even triple-checked and a lot of decisions that seem to want your approval, it’s only natural that you feel a little stressed even on such a momentous occasion. But fighting nerves on your wedding day can be easily taken care of if you follow a few simple tips.

One good tip is to make lists. The more organized you are and the more prepared you are then the less likelihood will there be of anything going wrong (the fear of which is a major cause of wedding day nerves). Even before the day itself, you can already make a list of things that need to be done before, during and after the wedding. For instance, during the “before” stage, the list will most likely comprise of suppliers to call, people to invite, reservations to be made etc. The “during” list is a list of activities that revolve around your wedding day.

These include, getting your hair and make-up done, sessions with the videographers and photographers, preparations for the bridesmaids and entourage, getting ready preparations at the venue and a host of other things. The “after” list is more of a clean-up crew kind of list. This means that you also need to consider the things that you brought into the wedding area and reception need to be brought back home with you or your family. For example, leftovers from the party need to be packed, sealed and taken away. Guestbooks, cards and gifts need to be brought home as well. All of these things need to be thought of in advance so that they won’t bother you on the actual day of your wedding.

These are simple things but can cause heartache and worry if not planned for. Get someone to help with the arrangements and planning and – make those lists!
